Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born South London, England into a mixed family. Her father is Nigerian Swiss and her mother is English. She went to The Brit School when she was fourteen years old. In London, she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where her acting degree was obtained. At school, she was a part-time actor in several stage productions, like the King Henry V's Princess Katherine or Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career through a short film called Storm Damage. In the years since, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers as well as Doctors. Madekwe made her debut motion picture in the 2007 Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. Then, she played Elisha in the BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In addition, she appeared as Ollie in the six episodes in the series Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. In 2008, Madekwe landed Bambi, the lead role in the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was a part of the 2008 comedy feature film How to Lose Friends & Affect People. Her stage credits are Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams and Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009 with her dramatic The Beautiful Life. The show aired just two episodes prior to being ended on The CW. In February 2011, she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe's exit from the series was confirmed in May 2013. After a period of two years as the main character she was a guest in the opening episode of season three. She played Tituba in the program Salem from 2014 to. Madekwe got married to her actor boyfriend Iddo goldberg on June 2012. The two have collaborated in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl in the past, and Goldberg is also a part of the cast on the TV show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress who was twice nominated for the Gemini Award, comes from a large Hamilton family. Four of her older brothers were also present including twins Todd and Bram, Brett & Rob. The four brothers of Ashley, each of them extremely physically active, were all playing hockey in the winter months and played baseball in the summer, so she basically grew up in arenas and baseball parks. Ashley never actually walked -she did dance, so at age just two years old, she began Baby Ballet -and she fell in love. Ashley discovered a love for dancing shortly after she joined Baby Ballet. Until she graduated from high school, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of tap, jazz, ballet and pointe as well as acrobatics, lyrical, musical theatre and hip hop. She was crowned the top individualist in all the most prestigious dance competitions like, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
