Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American Canadian singer and songwriter. She has produced many studio records. Her music is categorized as folk, alternative and rock but she also draws influences of hip-hop and jazz. Ani Difranco is believed as a feminist icon and a Grammy award winner. Being one of the early female musicians in the 1990s, DiFranco created her own label. DiFranco has two daughters: Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They were introduced at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother hails from Montreal and her father has Italian descent. Her song 32 Flavors was written by her, and performed by Ani. The song is featured on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. Another version of the track is included on the film soundtrack for the 1999 Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologised in 2013 when it was revealed that she planned to host a three day workshop at the Louisiana slave plantation. The workshop was cancelled, however, she did not express any regret. DiFranco issued another apology several days later. While she has been known as the Little Folksinger her music has embraced many styles and collaborations that range between Pete Seeger to Chuck D to Prince. She is from New Orleans. Ani has the name Kristen Ford. She began writing songs around the age of 14. She performed them in bars and coffee houses throughout her teenage years. DiFranco began taking classes in Buffalo State College at age 16 following her graduation from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. Ani's new baritone was a custom Alvarez guitar, designed by Chrys Johnston, who at the time was working as the Alvarez Artist Rep. This guitar is made from solid wood and has an ebony top and cedar sides. Additionally, it comes with it's System 600 Preamp. Her home is in New Orleans. There she lives with her husband, kids as well as her long-legged companion Lefty. DiFranco is admitting that, more than three decades after her initial appearance on the music scene, she feels mixed when she looks at her past. Ani DiFranco is a Pop/Punk Songwriter and Singer. She achieved musical hero popularity with critics and fans in her late twenties when she released Not A Pretty Girl, 1995. Dilate was even more well-known in 1996. The 1972 pop-rock song Brandy (You're a gorgeous girl) was composed by American group Looking Glass for their debut album Looking Glass. Elliot Lurie is the guitarist/vocalist of Looking Glass.
