Katy Perry, an American artist and singer was brought up in a strict conservative home. She began singing gospel songs when she was in her teens, after having spent her youth in a church. Even though it was not allowed by her parents, Perry heard all kinds of music, which was made available to her acquaintances, since she was a person with an uncanny love for music at the very beginning. As an outspoken person and a strong believer in her dream of becoming an artist, and pursued the goals she had set. Her debut break came not an easy task and she was required overcome a number of obstacles. It was necessary to put a lot of her song on hold before being signed by 'Capitol Records. This was when her path as a musician took off. The album she released next, "Teenage Dreams", that enthralled many musicians and was one of the biggest albums ever. The album set records in numerous ways and cemented her place as an established musician. Perry's philanthropic efforts are not solely attributed to her role as a performer and writer as well as the many records she has created. Perry is an LGBT rights activist.
